da Vinci Robotic Surgery
Precision robotic surgery for prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer with smaller incisions, less blood loss, and faster recovery than open surgery.
da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery lets our urologists perform complex procedures through a few small incisions, with greater precision than open surgery and faster recovery for you. The surgeon controls every movement of the system from a console — the robot does not act on its own.
Procedures we perform robotically
- Robotic prostatectomy for prostate cancer
- Partial nephrectomy (kidney-sparing surgery) for kidney tumors
- Radical nephrectomy for kidney cancer
- Cystectomy for bladder cancer
- Pyeloplasty to repair the renal pelvis
Why robotic over open surgery
- Smaller incisions and far less scarring
- Less blood loss and lower transfusion rates
- Shorter hospital stay (often 1–2 nights vs. several)
- Less postoperative pain
- Faster return to work and normal activities
What to expect
Most robotic procedures take 2–4 hours and require an overnight stay. You will have a urinary catheter for about a week and several small incisions that heal with minimal scarring. Most patients walk the same day, return to desk work in 2–3 weeks, and resume vigorous activity at 6 weeks.
